This puppy needs a home! (For Locals Only)

Journal Entry: Mon Aug 31, 2009, 7:50 PM

Well, I'll be honest...the real reason I haven't been updating so much is not because of school. It's this adorable little thing right here:

Yeah, she loves that clothespin of hers for some reason... ^_^

Her name is Buttercup. We rescued her when she was a weeee little pup and she's now 10 weeks old, and she only weighs 4 pounds. I think I can honestly say of all the pets we've owned, she's one of the ones I love the most, she's right under my cat Luna in that aspect. All of my family loves her so much. But we knew we probably couldn't keep her from the start, but we were going to see what we could do.

But today, our larger dogs randomly decided to gang up on her, and it nearly broke her. She sprained her paw and shoulder badly. She screamed so loud I thought she was dying. It was the most terrible thing I've ever heard. We thought she had broken her leg for sure. But thank God she was all right. She's just a little sore, and shook up.

As much as we love her, she can't live here. She's way too small in a house full of larger animals. She's a Pomeranian and poodle mix, so she's fragile, though certainly not timid. She growls and bites like any normal pup (and she eats any random thing she finds on the ground). She likes to run around and play and discover new things, and she doesn't like to be caged up.

Now here's the thing. We're charging $300 to rehome her, but listen to this: when we see the spay certificate, we'll refund $100. When we see that the puppy is alive and well after 2 years, we'll refund another $100. And if she's still living with her original owners, happy and healthy, five years from now, we'll refund the final $100. Depending on how well my family knows your family, rehoming fees may be reconsidered.

Maybe a few of you people who are reading who aren't local don't know, but in the area I live, people buy animals on a whim. They see a cute puppy, think "Aww!" and buy it, and then a month or two later they decide they have a reason to get rid of it and dump it at a pound. It happens so much it makes me want to cry and throw up at the same time. We really want her to go to a good home...

So my mom is advertising to her friends, and she's letting me advertise to all my friends locally through deviantART and Myspace. I'll miss her so much, and maybe if one of my friends took her I could visit her sometimes...

Goodness, I'm getting choked up as I type this... :tears:

If anyone of you would please help, I would be so grateful...

Desperately,
Waterbendy

Hm... Perhaps I can use this to my advantage. See, my grandma is looking for a pet for my younger sisters since I have Thor, and I already know that Katie would take good care of her. The only problem that we would have is her vaccines and such. Does she have any? Rabies shot? Is she fixed?

She has her first set of shots, she gets the second set on the ninth. She's not fixed yet because she's not old enough.

We still need to keep her a little while longer because she has small aggression issues, but once we've trained her my mom said she'll see what we can do.

Also, my mom *prefers* someone who has good experience with dogs and not as a first dog, because she may still have aggression issues even after we train her.

Ah. Well, good luck then. ^^;

And we're poor as hell. XD So I don't think we're going to be able to pay 300 dollars THEN pay for the vet.

aww D: she's adorable.

the story reminds me of the gray cat we have here. I have two cats at home, and they're really territorial, they can't even stand each other sometimes. My dad found a gray stray kitten outside his store one night, and tried to take her home... our cats acted like they wanted to tear her apart. Luckily, Dad didn't give them a chance.. so she's been the store cat ever since. ):

I hope you find her a good home D:

That's really sad. I guess at least she got to live at the store, though, instead of on the street, though. :)

Thanks.

It really works out well because this cat coincidentally loves people. She plays a little rough sometimes but she's the most sociable cat I've ever seen. So the people who go to the store (especially the kids) get a kick out of her.
